London Fog Tea Latte

December 14, 2015 By Claira

London Fog Tea Latte-4

We have been having some pretty warm days for a Chicago December, but the sun hasn’t been out much. I think this London Fog Tea Latte fit in perfectly with the weather that we have been having.

I first had this latte at a coffee shop, and it was incredible. I just knew that I had to make it at home, and share it with you. It is also way cheaper to make at home than paying the coffee shop price tag. You can probably buy all of the ingredients to make a weeks worth of this tea for the price of one at a coffee shop.

All you need is earl grey tea, vanilla extract, milk, and sugar. I used coconut sugar in this recipe because I like that in my coffee and tea.

London fog tea is so simple to make: brew two cups of earl grey tea. Warm the milk and add in the vanilla and sugar. Next, strain the tea into a mug, and then add the warm milk mixture to the mug. The recipe makes a serving for 2 people, but you can easily cut it in half.

You do not have to steam the milk, but it is suggested. I do not have a steamer, I used this gadget that we have. It’s actually a menu beer foamer that is used to foam beer once you have poured it into a glass.  It works perfectly for foaming milk for a drink too. I’ve also not foamed the milk in the past, but I promise, it tastes the same without the foam. Hopefully you enjoy this tea as much as I have on these gloomy, December days.
