Homemade Baked Beans

Easy to make homemade baked beans are a must make for your next cook out. They are made with navy beans, loaded with bacon and ground beef.
Serves: 10-12
  • 8 slices bacon, 4 slices diced and 4 sliced halved
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 jalapeƱos, chopped
  • 4 cans, Navy Beans (drained and rinsed)
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt (or more to taste)
  1. In a large pot over heat add the uncooked bacon and cook for 3-4 minutes, add the ground beef and break up into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Once the ground beef is cooked add the onions and jalapenos. Cook for 5 minutes until the onions are soft and the bacon is crisp.
  2. Stir in the molasses, brown sugar, bbq sauce,Worcestershire, apple cider vinegar, and dijon mustard and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the rinsed beans, black pepper and salt. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 3-4 hours. Stirring occasionally over the 3-4 hours.
  4. After 3-4 hours, preheat oven to 350. Pour the beans into a 13 by pan and top with the remaining baking. Bake for one hour uncovered. Once the beans have cooked for an hour raise the heat in the oven to 425 and cook until the bacon has browned, cooked and crisped up. This takes about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and serve.
